About Us
Van Buren Street Theatre
opened its doors in 2005 and has been putting on great comedies ever since!
Van Buren Street Theatre performances take place in a former church building. Above is a picture of the inside of the Theatre prior to renovations.
The former church, with its cornerstone laid on November 11, 1911, is a neoclassical Greek revival structure featuring plaster Greek columns and a domed ceiling. For a brief history of the church and this building, visit "Scientist Church Built After Long Struggle".
Our facility also features historically significant stained glass windows and early 20th century woodwork.

The staff at Van Buren Street Theatre puts you first so you can thoroughly enjoy your evening!
Van Buren Street Theatre owner Mike Asiala believes in laughter, which is why the Theatre performs mainly comedies each season, although other performances have graced our stage. Whether it's Neil Simon or Larry Shue - you will always leave wanting more!
You will always feel right at home at Van Buren Street Theatre.
Studies show that laughter truly is the best medicine! Articles have been published showing the medical benefits to laughter. Today, with the stress of the economy and our ever-changing world, why wouldn't you give it a try? What do you have to lose?
